'Glassworks' performed live by Signal.

Image

Philip Glass made the 'Glassworks' album as his major label debut release and it was never intended to be performed as a concert work, more as a showcase for his various styles.
New York's Signal ensemble have created a live version of this work and it is executed here with excellent sensitivity and polish.
Sometimes Glass's compositions can come across as a bit too dry and mathematical - or chaotic if not performed properly - but here there is an enjoyable emotive element.

Here is a video of another group doing a section of Glassworks (not quite as well as Signal).

Dream Evil - The book of heavy metal
Had not heard of this band before Tuesday when a friend played me the title track to this album from his phone in a pub. He had previouly met one of the band. Think they are good, like a time capsule from the 80s.
