Simple Minds 'Neapolis' (1998)

Continuing my Simple Minds trip with another 'first time on vinyl' edition, here is 1998's undervalued 'Neapolis'.

The only album recorded during a brief tenure with Chrysalis Records, this marked a partial reunion of the 80's lineup with Derek Forbes and Mel Gaynor rejoining. Soundwise it is also a return to the electronic, experimental side of the band - the direction that they would follow in the new millennium.

Terrific LP. Moody atmospherics as only Simple Minds can do.

Cocteau Twins ' Milk & Kisses' (1996)

The Cocteau Twins, a band I adored in the 1980's up until 'Blue Bell Knoll'.
I lost interest in them after that.

So here is 'Milk & Kisses' from 1996 which was the band's final album. I have never given this one any serious attention but a vinyl copy has just arrived and is changing my opinions drastically.

Is it any good, or just another rehash? I've lost count of the times reviewers have said that album x is a return to form, only to think it's ok, but not great.
