Funkadelic - Electric spanking of war babies Thus offering from 1981 is absolutely bonkers but I love it. Bootsy Collins is on top form as usual.

Elbow 'Flying Dream 1' (2021)
Elbow have finally delivered the album I have hoped for years that they would make. A lush, serene collection of thoughtful songs recorded with grace and beauty.
The lockdown opened possibilities for some, for instance the historic Theatre Royal in Brighton could be temporarily converted into a recording studio and Elbow made full use of this venue for a dramatic atmosphere and rich acoustics. Guy Garvey has never sung better and the whole band are in fine form with an emphasis on piano and subdued instrumentation.
'Flying Dream 1' recalls both The Blue Nile and (later) Talk Talk with its ambient flow and depth. Don't expect hit singles here, just sit back and let yourself be enfolded by wonderful music.

Samantha Fish 'Faster' (2021)
Come on, right here, I'm gonna be a little forward
So shy, locked eyes, why you sitting in the corner
I'll be nice, I won't bite, can ya come a little closer?
It's alright, I just might be the type to wanna be a little bolder
I wanna ooh, I wanna ooh
You're gonna ooh
That's how I'll make your heart beat faster, faster
Get the idea? Samantha Fish is a blonde, blues-rock goddess who takes no prisoners. On this new album she stretches out from her raunchy swamp-rock basis into more varied styles - all done with total conviction and a sense of seductive playfulness.
If you feel the need to blast those Lockdown Blues away then Samantha is your girl!
Found this playing through some old forgotten 45's - Angelic Upstarts b side from way back in the Thatcher years about one Gary Bushell, but could just as easily apply to the current PM.
