Judging from his amps and speakers I have no doubt that detail will not get in the way when it's time to explore DAC's

Spent about 100 hours now breaking in cables. There is a euphemism that is spoken around here from people my age that probably applies to this situation. "You can't polish a turd." Cabling changes the presentation, but the component maintains what is fatal flaws in my system. Cabling will not change that. I have never bought a component that I never was able to resell, or think that it will fit another person's system well. I am thinking that string of success just came to an end.

All in good time :guiness; . I can understand how a cd player works but streamers might be a different matter  Or maybe the answer is finding something with streamer and dac in one box (I2S is important), a bit of circuit tracing and a few pcb tracks cut and a few power supplies added (number depending on how adventurous we feel on that particular day and what's left in the parts bin).

Sorry the Mivera has not worked for you, the sooner you get an for sale ad in place the sooner it will be sold.

I’m waiting the delivery of a Musical Fidelity M1 Dac- thought I would try it as I’ve always wanted to- & perhaps the M1 CDT one day
See how it compares to the little dot

M1DAC has a gorgeous refined character, I had one for a few years and passed it on to a friend who listens primarily to Classical vocal music. He loves it.

Quick update
I got a MF m1 dac from eBay- plugged in and played- different from the little dot Dac1- not better not worse just different presentation.
Unfortunately (😂🤪) a spares repair M1 Clic came up on ebay the very next day- has difficulty coming out of standby- no problem for me I just leave it switched on.
Now the interesting fact is that although they share dna the m1 dac & Clic are really different- Clic has lifted the presentation and just bops along- a mix of the solid little dot Dac1 & the finesse m1 dac- I’m pleased
It has radio paradise from the tuner and I stream tidal optically from Teufel connector.
Currently I trying its pre out direct to the amps- so far I’m pleasantly impressed.
M1 dac currently on its way to a new owner in Germany
