With rubber rot on the feet and the mat fecked it sounds like the turntable was stored unused somewhere like loft or garage at some point.

I imagine many a turntable was shoved in a closet somewhere when the CD became mainstream. Then someone read a article somewhere, and drug the old mare out, as everyone knows that these antiques are worth money now.
