All this talk of dusty, cliched Audiofool favourites has got me listening to them.
Alan Parsons Project 'Eye in the Sky' (1982)
Still terrific, when you're in the mood.

Marillion - With friends at St David's (Live)
To my knowledge this is the only live album with me in the audience.
I commented in the last live listen thread on page 20. What I heard today was not what I heard at the concert with the mini orchestra sounding a lot bigger and not being drowned out by the band. A lot must have gone on in the recording mixing process.
St David's Hall was designed as a classical music venue but seems to make most of its money through popular music although it is not easy to achieve a good sound through a PA. A lot of rock bands performed there in the 80s and there was a resurgence in the years before the pandemic.

Working my way through the classic LPs of my younger years.
David Sylvian 'Brilliant Trees' (1984)
Damn fine album, full of subtlety and weird, dreamlike layers.
Now to track down a copy of 'Gone to Earth'.
