Boris and his advisors might be being clever here, with the suspension of parliament.

Let others be seen to be forcing him into an election, whereby he can say 'I wanted to focus on Brexit, but I've been forced to campaign for a general election instead.'

The Conservatives are comfortably ahead in the opinion polls at the moment.

Or if there is no election, he should be able to push through some form of Brexit on the 31st. Making him look like someone that can get things done, unlike T May. Which would place him in a very good position for any post-Brexit General Election.

The Queen is the Head of State and she has the power to remove the clown. This was discussed on Sky news and if Parliament is put to one side, as appears to be the case, they could go to her advisors in a last ditch attempt to prevent the nation going over the cliff edge.
