Wash yer mouth out Selby - The PL-71 is one ugly SoAB.............Just MHO..... :hand:
I cant help thinking - it doesn't know which year it was born, Olde Worlde hard wood, with a splash of space cadet push button switching....
But by all accounts one hell of a deck.

UK price £3000. With a £310 amplifier.
I have to admit those look pretty cool!!

I have the Klipsch Heresy III on my list, just don't have enough room to do them some justice at the moment!!

Some chap a few weeks ago on AOS bought a pair of Klipsch Heresy II speakers, but sold them on very quickly. Reason why, he was not getting much bass out of those 12inch drivers...

He is probably looking at the problem arse about face. Too much mid and treble is more likely. People plonk a speaker down and expect them to work, also they show up bad amps especially bad transistor amps. Put them with a Naim amp and you could cut glass with it.

Gromit,

How are you getting on with the 2020i speakers? Which NVA amp are you using now?

Sorry - completely missed this.

The Teac is excellent, just gets on with the job of converting the ones and zeros into music in a way that just doesn't draw attention to itself. I came to it via Beresford Caiman (good) CA Dacmagic (better) but the Teac beats both. The Caimain's fine, but it just sounded disjointed, as though each note had a switch at the start and finish, and after a while it began to bother me. Listen to a cassette recording that's been done with Dolby B and switch to Dolby C and it would be an exaggerated version of what I was hearing. The Teac joins all the dots up - and is particularly good with the MacBook via USB.

I have absolutely no desire to change it, put it that way. :)

Shane - they're not 2020i's!!!!!!!!! ;)

Using the AP20 now - it's loosened up considerably since new and presently driving the ProAcs.

Gromit has a P not a PX. PX is no longer made, too much of a faff. P is one input PX is two input, that is the only difference.

I didn't provide Gromit with an AP10H as the P is the same but with speaker sockets. I am still hoping for a report of the AP10 as used as an H.
