Paving stone (or two) from BQ or Homebase, a couple of quid, Lack table on top of it.

I'm sure you're right, but I can't imagine having paving slabs on top of a nice carpet will be very wife friendly

Tried that it did not work* . As pictures show it is now on top of my heavy storage unit laden with lps'. it also sits on top of wooden box filled with sealant , then sand and 14 tennis balls .
In terms of sound and isolation of the needle from toddler dq's dancing this as been the best solution.
