Things on that site would still be a rip off if the prices did not have a 0 or two at the end. Has the US gone bonkers. Easy to see why Trump was elected.

This thread is good, keep it up, I for one never realised how much shite slurp there is out there, and it is a growing disease by the look of it.

At the low margin/zero slurp end, where I tend to look these days, I see Yamaha in their specs for the very humble AS-201 quote 100WPC into 8 ohms - at TEN PERCENT distortion. Now, why don't they just quote say 60 - 70WPC long-term, which may be nearer the truth.

Specs are all bollocks and lies as they are never qualified correctly. They have just become a marketing tool, sadly this industry / hobby is dominated by marketing bullshit both on the objective and subjective side.

Some matching specs can be useful, but in reality they are not understood either.

It is..regarding amps/speaker..All i want to know is a rough estimation of The Power an amp kicks out & the Efficiency of a pair of speakers. Only because i always buy low power amps & Highish Efficiency Speaker. Turntable wise i buy Low Mas arms/High compliance Cartridges, thats all i wanna know apart from the recommended tracking weight.. Why make Hi-Fi so Over complicated.

Why people insist on Knowing specs that they really dont need to know !
