Re: Life of Pi
So I have my Cambridge DAC Magic Plus with Longdog Audio LPSU connected to the Pi via NVA SSP Digital outputting NAS hosted WAVs to my Grado SR80e. Not bad at all. Can anything be done within the Moode settings to increase SQ?
Shame that Moode doesn't stream Tidal; it doesn't work as an all in one solution on that basis - think I am still going to have to look at the Auralic Aries Mini for my headphone station. Or perhaps push the boat out a little and get the Lumin D1 which has twin Wolfsons and is a neater solution.

I have to say the Pi2 and HIFIBerry DIGI+ Pro is a stupidly high performing combination. Genuinely very good indeed. Yes, you need a DAC, but you could swap the DIGI+ Pro for the DAC+ Pro board which has twin femto clocks instead. Crazy performance - crazy low price.

Re: Life of Pi
The HifiBerry Digi+ Pro really does significantly improve on the standard version.
I've been waiting for Volumio to get their finger out and release support for the new board - but the SQ with Moode is so good I wonder if there will be any difference.
Most of these systems now offer Spotify as standard and I would expect Tidal to be included before too long.
Now you just need a better headphone than the SR80.

Re: Life of Pi
Morning! Yes, I know...
Loving the DMP at the moment - whether plugged into the Pi or via USB to Tidal MQA the quality is exceptional. It really is a super little DAC; a quality LPSU just lifts it into a silly price/performance category.
Good shout on the Moode Advanced Kernel BTW - a real lift in SQ.
I wish these Pi distros would incorporate native Tidal/Quobuz support, that's the last barrier to full adoption for me. The SQ is there easily, it's simply a functionality issue now.

Also have to say that the Tomanek LPSU is very good VFM. What I particularly like is that the power cable from the LPSU to the device has a screw fit connector at the LPSU side and is removable. So provided you have more than one device requiring that voltage, you can simply order a cable with the right connector for the second device and power it without having to buy a separate LPSU. A nice touch.
