But what to get after the Lp12 ? Lenco, Rega, Gerrard ? DD ?
Oh hang on, I have a PL-71 to refurbish
Needs the arm bearings sorting, arm rewire, psu recap and off boarding, motor board recap, micro switches changed.
Will that be good enough though
Don't get a fucking Rega!
Please!
Kenco, Gerrard, Sonny, Pieoneer, etc they're all good at the right price for the condition. Or not so good at the wrong price for the condition.
Doing up your PL71 would be valid. Starting off with the essentials to get it turning at the right speed. And then maybe not bothering with the arm bearings and rewire and the off boarding - depending.
Just stick the Liar Aygo on whatever turntable you go with.

Thanks Peter. I will probably take you up on that offer when the time comes. Would be great to meet you some time.
I need to hear more decks as I have lived a very sheltered life (in hifi terms) .

Possibly, but many seem happy. Inexperienced or not.

35 years ago I was very happy with the Halfords stereo in my Toyota Corolla.
Hi-Fi can a rabbit hole. Sometimes I envy those who have managed to stop digging.
