It definitely is, but we're looking for another one. The record we're searching for is some members of that Australian Band (founded I think '73) playing with some of their idols, that influenced their style a lot. That Australian band still exists and is still touring.

No, think of a Deroit band, claiming their music to be not just music, but a political statement, then think of the first band of an exceptional performer not taking care of his body at all when on stage. And then bring it together with a hard performing Australien band.

Before this thread dies, I give you the solution: The name of that supergroup was New Race, the LP called First and Last. Members were Deniz Tek, Warwick Gilbert, Rob Younger of Radio Birdman, Ron Asheton from The Stooges and Dennis Thompson from MC5.

I had a 7" single 'Bored' by Destroy All Monsters, one of Ron Asheton's late 70's bands. Red vinyl. Punky. Girl singer called Niagara.
