I will always go for amps with a dedicated psu for each channel - it makes so much sense musically. Giving the input stages their own dedicated psu (as in A80) was a big step up musically too.

Bigger cases = increased distance between toroid and amp board = win win win

An opinion please given that I currently use an A30 mk11 would it be more beneficial ( In your opinion) to change for a pair of new A40's or a 6 way mini BMU. I've almost ordered one or the other for a week or so, but I'm sure if I would need the extra power or if the PSU would give me what I'm after, I listen mostly to vinyl, sometimes I feel I need a bit more ( I think it is because it is so clear I just want to keep turning it up a bit ) no problem with cd volume, would A 40,s be a side ways step?

Amp has to trade in for amp so that is the only choice. It won't be a big upgrade to A40 to justify the hassle, the best upgrade would be to A60.
