Re: What Turntable
EMT 948 and 950 are fine too. Prices seem to be all over the place for EMT's. With a lot of them selling for £thousands more than 3 years ago when I bought my 950.applemarc wrote:Ok if I can get in touch with him I will buy and compare with my SME if I like it I will then consder selling it and buy a better DD their seem to be one or two that are supposed to be the best out there
Pioneer P3a
Kenwood L-O7D
Sony PS-X9
Denon DP100
A few others to look out for:
Onkyo PX-100M (500,000 yen in 1981)
The Denon DP 100 was 700,000 yen in 1981 and 100M 900,000!
Yamaha GT-2000X (320,000 yen in 1985)
JVC TT-101 (150,000 yen in 1981 for this bare-bones tt)
Micro Seiki, various dd models including the AP-M1, DDX-1000
Marantz TT1000 (390,000 yen on 1981)...

Re: What Turntable
Therein lies the rub though eh? Surely the best TT in the world can only be the one you love the most. I can't imagine swapping my Anni for anything else.jammy395 wrote:Ok applemarc.....As previously stated you are indeed one lucky SOaB.............. ...................

No, no, I went through a lot of turntables, including idlers & DD, before becoming a Pink devotee.

Re: What Turntable
Well done doc , you managed to find a smily that perfeclty illustrates the smugness and joy us pink triangle owners derive from ownership. :D
you never know , the handshake may catch on as a secret ownership code similar to the alleged one the masons have .

It is listed as "Gay Fight" :? Though I understand it is not compulsory for PT owners to be gayDaniel Quinn wrote:the handshake may catch on as a secret ownership code similar to the alleged one the masons have .
