Lenco
Have we any Lenco re-builders here, I obviously know about Lenco Heaven Forum which I have joined, but anyone here.
I have had an interesting project on the slow burner for a couple of months now because I am fed up of waiting for my Rek-O-Kut. Decca ffss H4E on a Johnie7 rebuilt Decca ffss arm on a rebuilt L75 on a black Acrylic plinth.

Re: Lenco
Love it, never owned one but always wanted one. I registered at Lenco Heaven four years ago but it never went anywhere!
My dad had exactly the same arm and cartridge to go with his 301, the package was let down by a sprung plywood plinth and you were not allowed out your seat when it was playing for fear of the arm bouncing across the vinyl.

Re: Lenco
i have a gl75, well the bare bones of it. I have purchased a new bearing and a new top plate. at the moment the plinth is slate but i am trying to get hold of some panzerholz to get a decent plinth made up once and for all. is acrylic a good material to build a plinth from?

Re: Lenco
Yes but expensive if you use the published ply wood design as shown on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plinth-for-Le ... 5af65f8074
Mine is that basically - built up from 20mm plates of acrylic stuck together and pinned and polished at about £300.

Re: Lenco
Me and my eldest son built a GL75 into a heavy plinth with jelco st250 arm. The Lenco was cut down to platter and speed controller and then sunk into the top layer of ply to give a better connection to the plinth. Looks s bit unfinished but makes beautiful music compared to anything I've heard new up to £400 and Ben, my eldest at 15, plays music more than he watches telly, result!

Re: Lenco
This is not to produce a #1 TT, it is a retro project to explore how good the old stuff was. In reality I was originally going to use a Rek-O-Kut from the US but I cannot seem to get Northern Analogue to do the work on it as they have had it for two years now.
It started with finding a bargain Decca ffss H4E and then a bargain Decca ffss arm, so I had the basis of a good 1950's sound. For best it should have a Garrard 301 but I wont pay the daft money they go for, so the L75 was the best alternative at reasonable price even though it is 1960's.
