The highlighting is mine...

Atlas Cables Burn-In & Demagnetizing Disc

This item is brand new. RRP £10.00

This listing is for a Genuine Atlas Cables Burn-In & Demagnetizing Disc

This disc is an excellent way of burning in your new system or components and also for demagnetizing it. Playing this CD at low volume whilst you are out of the house or busy elsewhere is an excellent way to ensure that your system is both run-in and optimized. The demag properties are also useful as it is a process you can repeat periodically to great effect.

This does exactly what is says. Improving and demagnetizing your hi-fi and audio visual systems, components, speakers and cables. The Disc provides a relatively 'stressful' signal which is not in any sense time-stationary and which thus exercises the system thoroughly, particularly interconnect cables which (for reasons not entirely understood, but probably related to the amount of voltage and current available) seem to need more burning in than speaker cables. So if you have just purchased some new interconnects, speaker cable, speakers or a whole new system this is a must to optimize your listening experience.

How about a "HiFi Tuning Disc Demagnetizer (For CD's, DVD, or BluRay)" Yes for just £199.99 you can buy a device that will demagnetize all of your discs.

Didn't think your discs could GET magentized? Well apparently... "Inks used on the disc label and even the aluminum substrate itself may contain materials that can pick up and store a magnetic charge. This can happen as the disc is moved in and out of the case or even in the CD transport itself as the disc is spun at high speeds."

So now you know, and it must be true because I read it on eBay. :liar:
