More Class D: An additional update on the teeny-tiny Douk G4's
Way too powerful, really, for desktop / nearfield use - the volume pot rarely goes above 11 o'clock. But these have settled in as well and increased in smoothness and depth. Sometime will get around to firing them up in a full-scale rig to see how they act in a 'serious' situation.
Now fitted with MIT Matrix 6 interconnects which are a high-quality link but unsuitable for NVA gear. One fact I have learnt is that in semiconductor-based audio setups, the processing pathways within the silicon chips get burnt-in and sound quality does improve during the early period of usage. Digital gear that begins as edgy or grainy, acquires a pleasing sweet refinement the more it is used.
Again, you hear how Class D can provide a very satisfying listening exxperience, in the right system, and makes for terrific low-budget solutions.
