I predicted in 2016 that should the Brexit become a reality, Britain would become a third-world country within 5 years.
This article from The Guardian appears to confirm my suspicions:
Britain is entering a profound social emergency. Why is nobody acting like it?

Britain will not become a third-world country.
The EU has plenty of problems of it's own, and I certainly wouldn't want to be in the Eurozone, right now, as opposed to being a sovereign currency issuing nation.

Re: Brexit Benefits -the sunny uplands
Thanks Paul that's one of the most well reasoned and articulate commentaries I have seen on what is normally an emotive and troublesome subject.
My gut feeling prior to the vote was that is major proponents were at best untrustworthy but more likely liars and cheats and therefore instinctively I voted to remain. I am yet to see one single benefit of Brexit but I regularly encounter problems arising from it and Kier Starmer won't saying anything because in doing so he jeopardises he opportunity to win back the traditional labour seats that fell for the first time to the bastard that goes by the name of Boris.

Re: Brexit Benefits -the sunny uplands
A very good film. The slow puncture and conspiracy of political silence points are very valid. Labour has to keep stum for fear of spooking the red wall. I would not be surprised if behind the scenes Starmer is in discussions with Brussels. Joining the single market at least would go some way to repairing the mess we are in and would also solve the Irish border issue and take the wind out of the sails of Scottish independence.
I have complained about how Brexit has adversely affected me a lot in the thread but fear the worst could be yet to come next week as we are going to Spain. Entering EU countries used to be so straightforward. This will be our first time since Brexit and we have pre and post Brexit passports as my wife had to renew.

Ding-Dong the Witch is (politically) dead.
Braverman the leaver swapped for Shapps the remainer. Both of them are complete c*nts, but it's a slight improvement.Suella Braverman forced to resign as UK home secretary
Right-winger is replaced by Grant Shapps in further serious blow to Truss’s authority

Re: Brexit Benefits -the sunny uplands
After the stories coming out about the fracking vote tonight, you're dead right, Apparently, the whips were manhandling MPs and physically forcing them into the "correct" voting lobby. Rees-Mogg and Coffey joined in, and an MP got called a cunt, by another MP. It was pandemonium, by all accounts.
Chris Bryant, the Labour MP took photos, and he's passed at least one to Lindsay Hoyle, who is said to be taking the matter "seriously".

It makes pretty horrifying reading.
