Choosing between Truss and Sunak is like being asked which is your favourite sweetcorn kernel stuck in a particularly disagreeable turd.

The choice, as it is being put forward by the candidates, is between something you don't want and something you can't have.

In other news the Labor Party fire their shadow transport minister for supporting transport workers. I'm absolutely at a loss for words.

Speaking as someone who has voted Labour for 50 years, and who is a former trades union member, and a former union rep, I find myself, for the first time in my life, politically homeless. I will NEVER vote Conservative, and I cannot, in good conscience, vote for what the Labour party has become under Starmer. Replacing one problem with another is not a solution I can be a part of. Voting for a party that actively distances itself from the very reasons it was formed, the reasons that brought me to it in the first place is not something I can do.

I could write much more, but the above probably says most of what I feel the need to say.

Not only a thumbs up that I agree, 'tis what I would have typed. You saved me the finger work. I have also left my union and Labour party after 37 years subs. No political party is representing the population anymore just their paymasters and globalists. We need the youth to rebel. Protest, strike and fight. I'm too tired. Sadly they are under educated to realise their future has been stolen whilst they were sleeping.

Which I suspect was always the intent, as long as the have bread and circuses to distract them all is fine. Unfortunately they can't afford bread, but the will complain that they can't get hold of their teams away kit for this season fffs...

And what rôle do you see football fulfilling in this?
Surely football is the circus.

Sorry - that's exactly what I meant, though other circuses are available. Apologies for not being more lucid - I blame the wine....

That was the third ingredient in the fall of Rome.
