I did have a few too many beers listening last night so today is a take it easy day ☺️

Allen Stone - self titled debut album on vinyl. Strange as it might seem but I much prefer the CD and the streamed version to the vinyl one. The vinyl has gone into my "to be sold" box..

I needed something smooth and relaxing after sorting out a lot of legal stuff (solicitors lack of urgency winds me thru the roof) and an ongoing boundary dispute that makes me want to wrap a shovel round someones head.

It had to be and was only ever going to be The very best of The Crusaders (1976). That and a cup of tea (no beer fyi) has done the trick of winding me down.

Joy Division 'Closer' (1980) LP

After Ian Curtis took his own life in a bout of depression caused by the prospect of Joy Division's imminent first American tour, it was a long wait for us fans until 'Closer' appeared with its funereal mausoleum cover. A tribute to a talent departed too soon. An album reeking of desperation and loss.

The latest LP reissue, on 180g vinyl from the 2007 remaster, is glorious. So much fuller and more gut-wrenchingly intense than the somewhat brittle original pressing. An album that has become a timeless swan-song and a tragic monument.

Audio system crowing is not consonant with actual love/knowledge of music.

Hence the sad state of affairs as made manifest in this (nigh-dead) "music" section.

That is a point we often make on HFS, Missy.

And there is virtually no 'Audio system crowing' in this thread which is for all to show their diverse and varied musical tastes (including prog).
