I have had my BMU for about 3 years now, however it has been out of use, stored away for the last 18 months. Now having the chance to bring it back into use I find that when plugging it in the fuse box trips out every time. Does it at any of the sockets in the house. Never did this previously, any ideas what the issue may be or do I have a nice unmarked perspex doorstop for the house now ?
Thanks in advance of any advice.

Re: BMU Problem
Damp in the wiring after storage?
Could try letting it dry out in a warm place for a day or 2.

Tried twice upstairs using the same socket it used to be in and another one , then a further one downstairs all with nothing plugged into it.

Re: BMU Problem
Thanks for the thought but it has been in a bedroom all the storage time so hopefully no damp ingress

Re: BMU Problem
First, check that nothing has fallen into any of the sockets. You may need to use a torch.
Assuming all clear, then try it up to 4 times, in quick succession.
If it's still tripping after that then there is something wrong.
Are you in the same house that you were when you last used the BMU?

BTW what is the maximum constant power consumption rating of your Jadis monoblocks? Did you ever use them with the BMU?
Re: BMU Problem
@ Savvypaul
Max power consumption 110V, yes used them before.
However, all immaterial as the 4 times re-try has worked a treat and all seems to be working now.
So firstly big thanks for the suggestions and secondly what is the mysterious power of 4 that fixes the BMU ?

Just Tomasz's experience of building and testing them.Principia wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 7:30 pm @ Savvypaul

When first built, most would trip once and then be good. Very occasionally, one would need 3 or 4 attempts.
