Had to take my six year old daughter to drive thru test centre today. It made her cry  Her temperature is 38 degrees but no other symptoms.

So me and family are now isolating until the result comes back and possibly longer if it comes back positive. Just proves schools are not super spreading centres :liar:

Good job I have enough sherry to last the whole isolation period

Thanks Paul. I don't think I would have been so calm if this had happened in the first lock down. Luckily I have not been in the same room as my mum recently. It's a miracle she is still here. Covid would most likely finish her off.

I am currently trying to drown any potential c19 in alcohol :obscene-drinkingbuddies:

38 degrees is a major Corona indication - but then again kids often have odd illnesses/symptoms that are unrelated.

Seeing your mum shouldn't have been a danger to her as it doesn't sound as if you are contagious - yet.

Stay cool, Stu.
Best wishes.

Stu, hope everything is alright and the test is negative.

My wife is in quarantine after returning from Kenya to see her seriously ill dad. Not too woried as the infection rate their seems to be a lot lower than here. They have less in the way of restrictions than here but anyone coughing or sneezing in public risks being lynched. Therefore peope to not behave irresponsibly.

I got a phone call last Sunday evening to tell me that one of my mum's carers (mum is 96, and still lives at home, on her own) had tested positive, but they weren't allowed to tell me which carer it was. Absolute bloody stupidity as the rules say Mum has to self-isolate for 14 days from her last contact with him (we worked out who it was) and they couldn't, or wouldn't, tell me when that was. It turned out to be Tuesday, and as I said, they rang on Sunday evening, so she should have already been self-isolating for 5 days. Fortunately shes still asymptomatic so it looks like she's in the clear.

I have never been worried about anything more than this bloody virus. It is a total cvnt. In April / May I got seriously angry with blow job and his pack of shit heads. This time it is different but I still think they are a bunch of useless cvnts,

Same here. I had been enjoying my retirement for two and a half years and now it seems I only have half a life. It became a lot worse when my wife had to go to Kenya to see her sick father and I was on my own for a month during the Welsh lock down. Only music, Sky Sports and alcahol kept me sane. In normal circumstances I would be seeing my friends in pubs, going racing and seeing bands. I can see why so many people have developed mental health problems. To cap it all we have the most incompetent, inept corrupt government in living memory. Because of the delayed test result my wife missed her original flight to Kenya and it is a nightmare trying to get the money back. Had all this in the Spring with our cancelled holiday in Lanzarote.

That said I am aware that I am one of the lucky ones. We have remained heathy and are financially better off. How I wish someone could invent a time machine go back a year and nuke Wuhan.

There are more and more reports of people getting ill from Corona a second time, after about 6 months. This does not bode well for the long-term effectivity of any vaccine. Maybe we will get to a stage of a yearly booster shot - like the flu jab.

The modern world, as we know it, has changed.
