Slinger, did you get chance to try this out and did it make any difference?

I used something similar(ish) for a while -the Fiio E3. An in-line audio attenuator powered by an AAA battery.

Did improve headphone SQ from MP3 players quite noticeably.
Still here on a shelf somewhere.

After Slinger mentioned the head space I decided to have a look at it as I now only use headphones. It's now stayed in the system as I seem to be hearing more detail. Seeing as it only cost a total of £16, including postage, I think it probably counts as a good value upgrade.

I'm interested as it looks like my serious listening is going to be through headphones for the foreseeable future. I wondered if this device might provide some crossfeed that I have seen mentioned for certain headphone amps. Interesting to know that it gives more detail in your system and worth a go at the price.

Hemmo, my headphone output was a later addition on my AP20 and sounds wonderful with all of my headphones. I'm not sure if NVA still offer it as an option but I would drop Paul and Tom a pm to check.

I tried using it with a less-than-optimal set of cans on my PC, for YouTube mainly and wasn't impressed, it just seemed to boost the top end a bit too much. Not really what it was designed for though, so my opinion is fairly irrelevant at the moment.
