I’ve dabbled with silicon sealant and coloured pva glue as I can never find Bison
Warning- careful your dust cap is porous- if anything gets through it’s difficult to repair

Oddly, thought about PVA myself. Does it work? If so, how well?

Re: Effects of doping a speaker cone
Used PVA on a pair of old Wharfdale speakers (Linton...or something). Can’t remember if I watered down a bit or not.
Worked ok afair. At least it reduced the sensitivity of the driver, and increasingly so as frequency rose.
There may well be better substances than PVA.
In any event, doping is a bit of an approximate science for me. My *personal* preference, not shared by others here of course, is to work through, by ear, to a good crossover that works in my own listening room.
Be assured i’d probably prefer a doc mod speaker, modded by ear in my own listening room, to an off-the shelf one-size-fits-all unmodded version of the same speaker.
The point for me is that it can be enormously helpful to tune speakers by ear in my own listening room. The way(s) I do that is secondary.
