I'm building these with a few mods, first of which are some very high quality regulated filament supplies- one for each 300b so eight in total, four in each monoblock. These are not part of the standard kit so I need to find room for them.
I've heard a similarly modified pair at a previous Owston which was easily the best amp I've heard so far, so if this kit gets anywhere near that I'll be a happy chappie.
First job is the filament supplies, got all the components laid out-
Made a start on populating the chassis with tag strips etc-
That's as far as I've got for now, will update the thread as I progress.
That little pink door, is that for a mouse you trained up to tidy up after you?,
there was a piece on BBC News recently a chap didn't know who tidied up after him in his garage,
he rigged up a camera and found a mouse tidying the mess he'd left through the night.
Board built up-
Installed into chassis-
Heater wiring to the front end valves - these will be supplied from a winding on the toroids I'm having made-
Getting there with the front end-
I am a bit OCD, is that a cap at 1 o'clock position nearest to the black speaker terminal,
i'd be straightening that pronto, leaning a bit sideways would annoy me.
What have yo got in mind for first tune to christen it?,
since you have a Faery hatch, may i suggest something from ''Peatbog Faeries'' !!,
that'll get them dancing round scattering their faerie dust.
