That is a pretty music sight, wiring looms are a musical disaster, they should all be picked apart.

Re: An Exercise in Daftness.
After having made corrections to the feedback resistors (too low value meaning too much feedback) and the channel reversal I always seem to end up with (must remember, left is right and right is left with the chassis upside down ) the amp is now properly installed in the system and making glorious music. I'm a happy chappy.
Just need to spray the transformer cover, but not now.

Re: An Exercise in Daftness.
I don't know where it came from, but I just love the look of the sound equipment of the '50s and '60s. Another major influence is the vintage guitar amp visual concept. I try to to channel those ideas into the stuff I build. It's a labour intensive process and what comes out bears no resemblance to modern hi-end gear.

Re: An Exercise in Daftness.
Why the feck would you want to produce modern hi-fi gear. It is your love your hobby, it is respected because it is your individuality. we need more individuals.
The boddger brigade should be individuals it is the foundation of our hobby. I would give up sales for home builds any time. Look at how much you have learned over the years and how many cul-de-sacs you got trapped up and tangents you went on, and still do, it is the journey of your hobby, and you invested a son in it, which is another gift for us.
One day if you feel in the mood do a waffle on your journey as DSJR is doing on his through the industry. A journey through bodging would be a good story.
