Re: Time the Slurpers are killed off
I have not set foot in a dealers since 2004. Not likely to visit in the future either. He dropped contact like a stone when i told him i had bought a house and no longer had the spare cash to throw around.
A mix of diy and using small companies like nva, avondale and anologue innovations when required. Dealers will die as the young ones are not interested in sound systems (or decent music from what i have seen).

Re: Time the Slurpers are killed off
Not all can go direct, for product that relies on turnover then a form of retail even if web based is needed. Richer Sounds performs this function perfectly, their own brands like Cambridge and Japanese brands could not do direct. It is only the specialist end of the market that should change, you cannot call what Richer do as slurping.
This is all about us reverting to our roots as a hobby. That hobby has always had two sides to it, those into the gear and those into the music, that wont change.
