Re: Your last listen
The Claypool Lennon Delirium- South of Reality. All you prog guys are probably up on this band. If not though I think you will be pleasantly surprised. This new 2nd album and their first are both excellent. Some amazing bass lines.

Re: Your last listen
Gave this a play, always open to suggestions about bands I have not heard of. Quite like it, a bit quirky in places. Agree about the bass lines.Chunk McDaniel wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 6:08 pm The Claypool Lennon Delirium- South of Reality. All you prog guys are probably up on this band. Re: Your last listen
In full-blown Keith Emerson-frenzy. Working my way through every recording I can get my hands on.
Somewhat more rocky and with a heavier accent on Marc Bonilla's superb guitar-workouts
Keith Emerson Band 'Moscow'
This is a seriously high-energy performance from 2011, superbly played and recorded with a fun mix of old and newer pieces.
A modern Rock interpretation by the master himself

'Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Live at Nassau Coliseum '78'
Whilst sorting through the ELP archives in 2010 - looking for bonus tracks for the latest reissue series - a set of multitrack tapes were found that turned out to be a complete 'lost' concert recording from 1978. The 'Works' Tour.
This whole concert has been properly mixed and mastered and issued as an official live album. Unlike some other 'live' albums there has been no overdubbing or tampering with the performances, so this is a warts 'n all portrait of ELP in full-flight as a massive and exciting performing entity. And the SQ is simply wonderful. Clear and precise so you can hear all the wrong notes (but who cares!).
The more I listen to these discs, the more I realise the humour and enjoyment those guys displayed on stage. Not just flashy technique and complex egotism - but raw rock 'n roll for fun. Also the three of them could sound like a complete battalion of musicians.

If you only want one ELP live - get this one.

Re: Your last listen
I think they got a worse press than any other band when punk/new wave came along and their sense of humour was over looked. I recall John Peel describing them on the lines of a waste of electricity.Fretless wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 9:44 am 'Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Live at Nassau Coliseum '78'
