I thought that put them on a par, you need to do it yourself, then sell the Chord to some dafty and make some money.

My daughter has the Audioquest Dragonfly, if I've got the name right. She brought it with her when she came over to visit.
I really liked it and if I can't get my hands on an old HRT Pro, I might get one of these instead.
I would have done this by now if it could do a slightly better job of driving my headphones which are 6oo ohm and I think the DAC only puts out around 2 volts rms.
Single spur balanced Mains. Self built music server with 3 seperate linear PSU, Intel i5, 16 GB RAM no hard drive (various Linux OS). Benchmark Dac2 HGC, single ended XLR interconnects/Belkin cable. Hand built Monitors with external crossovers , Volt 250 bass & ABR, Scanspeak 13M8621 Mid & Scanspeak D2905/9300 Hi. HD595 & Beyer 880 (600 ohm) cans.

I think the Chord came out on top, but the Chinese was by far the best value. If digital was not my main source it would be a no brainer. Have considered it for my second system, but have stuck with a more expensive and inferior bluetooth because i dont have to get out of bed.

I have both the AQ Dragonflys. The Red is worth the extra over the black with quality headphones, but Audio Player Plus is needed because of the volume issue.

I take it you must have compared the Audioquests to the Chord? What did you think?

The DF Red is close to the Chord Mojo at less than half the price. I use the Mojo for headphone listening at home and the far more portable DF when out. I used to use the Mojo with my system. The Qutest is better with the same sound signature and does not require charging, but is three times the price.

So has it been decided - does hi-fi exist or has it just become a tool for the slurping bullshitter marketing men.

My opinion - we have lost it because the latest trends have lost the music.

Biggest offenders, DACs with digital signal processing, WAF towers, Class D. But so much more is not up to standard and is an insult to music and musicians.
