Bully For You - Tom Robinson Band
Atmospherics: Listen To The Radio
These 2 singles are both worth a couple of minutes of your time. Tom Robinson is a superb songwriter who crafts poignant and personal stories into his work. Both of these were jointly written by Peter Gabriel.
'Bully For You' is rumoured to be an inspiration for Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'- most notably for the line 'We don't need no aggravation' (about midway through the track).
The album 'We Never Had It So Good' that TR recorded with Jakko in 1990 is something of a lost classic. superb songs and playing; heartfelt and wrenching. Also known as 'Blood Brother' in the USA. I remember seeing them play a track from this on the James Whale show - went out the next day and bought the album (could only find it on cassette, which I still have).
Tom Robinson/Jakko M. Jakszyk:We Never Had It So Good (full album)
Anyone reading this - give this album a listen, you might discover you missed out on a gem.

Re: Round whatever: What record am I listening to?
I'll have a look, thank you! Looking forward listening to the inspiration to The Wall. I was thirteen and lived on the countryside in Bavaria. For years we had an always ranting, unfriendly school bus driver. He retired and the next was a long haired young one, dressed in jeans, always friendly words on his lips and a lot of cassettes. The way to school was about half an hour and he one morning stated that he has the new Pink Floyd Album 'The Wall'. He presented it to us over two days. One half hour of it after the other.

I queued outside the record shop with a schoolfriend waiting to buy 'The Wall ' on the day it came out. We went back to his place and played the whole thing 5 times in a row.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Comment on Floyd's. 'The Wall'. When the band got together to start work on the follow up to 'Animals', Roger Waters presented them with 2 demo albums he had been working on alone. 'The Wall' and 'The Pro's And Con's of Hitch-hiking`.
I think the rest of the band made the right choice.
