No it flaming well doesn't. It ends with Ringo singing Lennon's 'Good Night'!Mississippi Blind Child Assburn wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 4:19 pm My christ-fucked computer is freezing-up every 2 minutes, so forgive my mistakes.

Now if anyone at all is reading this thread, doubtless you're thinking: 'But Blind Child! W.A. does NOT end strongly on side 4. Dammit it ends with the slurpy "Long And Winding Road"!"

Martha My Dear has a superb arrangement. Leave well alone, I say. I think it's better than it's predecessor in terms of enjoyment.

Oh, sure. I was just musing which tracks I'd chuck over the side like as if the White Album was a hot air balloon and I needed to offload some ballast. 'Don't Pass Me By' would deffo be gone.
Re: BEATLES THE wHITE aLBUM
The Ringo Starr "Good Night" track possesses a wonderful other world quality. It's simple but magical.

Re: BEATLES THE wHITE aLBUM
Many of the songs were written in India when they were bored out of their heads making foolsu of themselves with the Marahasi. They could not use his name, hence the title Sexy Sadie. Without Brian Epstien things started to fall apart with Paul taking over and John losing interest. There was resentment about Yoko being in the studio and Paul being bossy. Ringo walked out at one point as did George during the Let it be sessions. The others were unhappy about Revolution 9 being included, but John stood firm. In the circumstances it is a very good album which marked the beginning of the end. They went out on a higher note with Abbey Road.

Re: BEATLES THE wHITE aLBUM
With the exception of Piggies, Blackbird and Im So Tired, side two is blighted hope and can be mainly glossed over.
It is disjointed.
Martin said W.A. should have been cut down to a single lp, and I wager he was thinking mostly of side 2. Side 2 sounds like Beatles solos.
Martha,Julia, Do It in the Road are just too thin on the ground.

Oh yes my mistake!
Smarmy "Good Night" ends the lp, not "Long and Winding Road". (Another reason why this is a weak set.) Ringo left the sessions for two weeks.

Side 3 comes back in full force. Not a single bad track there. Sure "Birthday" is simple-simple, but it packs a punch.

Side 4:
Revolution No 9 is the big bone of contention here - for most listeners, but not so much for Blind Child. (Sure it would have been better put on its own avant lp (much like Harrison confined his electronic dabblings to the one lp.) One wonders how much avant-imput Yoko had here.
Revolution - not to sow too much discord and friction but Blind Chile always thought this a much over-rated track.
Savoy Truffle & Cry Baby Cry : now here we have the crown jewels of side 4.
