In your case its known as enjoying yourself. Guru status is something you can never give yourself which is why Marco and Bigman are so laughable. Guru in the sub continent and Master or Sifu in Chinese culture is a status given to you by your students or by the society of the people involved, or people observing your skill.

In time you may be recognised as HiFi DIY Guru. A real Guru always denies the status in public, "me ! no just an ordinary bloke" because in reality that is all they are, just they have real not pretend skill and knowledge.

Put the NEAT arm on that it will have (not fixed just resting). Looks ready to roll, but a lot of work plus plinth to come but looks really nice to me.

Put the SPU in for the real classic old TT pic.

Plinth

Black Perspex to be in with NVA, or something more traditional. In use this would have sat fitted in a desk top in a radio or recording studio, so would have no plinth. The pro arm used in radio were all mono remember and were NEAT Gray copies used in Japan. One came with this TT, I will put up photo once mended, it was broken. But here is stock pic.

Going to you first next time you are here, no urgency. It is a back burner project, like the G99 when I first got it. This was so cheap at ebay I just couldn't resist.

I very very very nearly bought that deck. Had to rein it in though as I needed to buy an arm for the new lenco project ive got on so i bought the arm instead.
Hovered over the buy it now for the neat for a long long time before I stopped myself..........

Have a 301 to finish too that has been stood there for the last 2 months. And another g99 which will have that karmadon arm on it when it arrives, and had just finished a g88.

Be interested to see what you do with it.

Getting working properly and fitted in a plinth, no messing apart from that. My fear is the rim drive wheel has gone dry and hard because you can't get a new one. Though somewhere stateside is someone who does them for obscure TT, but I bet it costs an arm and a leg.

You always take a risk with these projects. I had a Rec-o-Kut Rondine I thought was a bargain. but ended up far too much work needed so sold it on at a loss.

But I suppose that is part of the fun, you win on some and lose on others but the good thing is we are saving them for future use. Late 50's to early 70's was when the best TT stuff was made, it was very quickly down hill after that and hit rock bottom with the Linn LP12. Went up again with early 80's Japanese companies competing again for who could make the best one, we saw next to none of those here because we were brainwashed by the Flat Earth bullshit.
