I remember the other summers like this 1975 and 6. Grass fires everywhere especially along railway lines and roads, why? because most people smoked and just chucked fag ends out the window. Much better now, by this time back then there great areas along the M1 (that I drove regularly back then) that were either on fire or just burnt black.

I would be worried if I lived up on the moors.

The problem with 76 was the drought and water rationing. In Cardiff we had our water cut off for most of the day. This caused a lot of bad feeling as Welsh valleys were flooded to supply English city's with water. As far as I can remember we were the only region where supplies were stopped. Had to fill up buckets every day before they turned off the tap.

I hope to god when it starts to rain, its not a prolonged deluge,
there'll be flooding as the ground has been baked for 2 months and will not soak up water like it normally could. :-?

Round me is clay and at the moment it's like concrete. Any rain will just bounce off....

There's a heatwave in Japan that's killing people. It's so bad it's been declared a natural disaster. Southern Canada, The Caucasus region, Southern California, Sydney, Australia, and Algeria have all experienced record temperatures over the last month. Doesn't stop me moaning about having to run the fan so I can watch the telly in comfort though.

'76 was so bad I remember having to drink Holsten Pils by the pint, instead of by the bottle, to replace my fluids fast enough.

And don't Sweden plus Greenland where villagers are being evacuated as a huge Iceberg is heading inshore,
bits broken off from it is causing mini Tsunami's, is this Global Warming coming to roost?.

Just about sums it up George!
You won't ever hear me complain about our weather, apart from what we have at the moment, as I think the variation is bloody brilliant!
Had a holiday in Florida once and it was like fucking Groundhog Day! Really began to piss me off after a while - much like now.
