Grado RS2E

Unread post by southall-1998 »

Just recently picked up a set of used Grado RS2E.

You can pay anywhere between £260-£320 for used examples. The later made ones has the nicer retro looking brown headband.

Lovely sound. The wooden cups adds some weight and warmth to the sound. The presentation is still typical Grado style. But in a more mature grown up kind of way.

Give them a try.

How do you find the RS2E, compared to it's more affordable bothers?

They have that 'woody' sound that is a bit softer/rounded in comparison to the plastic versions. Came across as a super-refined SR80. Very light on the head as well.

Still prefer the depth and accuracy of the SR225e as my favourite Grado. And I didn't particularly like the harder/brittle sound of the SR325i that I once had.

I've tried SR325e. Lets just say, the experience didn't last for more than 10 min.
