Re: Kegworth HiFi show
Its already started Hemmo. Posts aplenty from those already safely ensconced at the venue, but nothing from the officials about the poor weather in the rest of the country or somebody taking time to check the .net to provide visitors/members with an idea of what the main routes into the venue are like. Its not difficult to do chaps!!!
Indeed, dear old Duvet has finally pulled himself away from the bar to photograph two hardy early visitors and Bazzer states the bleeding obvious with regards systems being primed and ready. Smell the coffee chaps, its mayhem in large swathes of the UK and even members close to the venue are reporting issues with getting in. Where are PFP posts? The silence is deafening

Re: Kegworth HiFi show
Cardiff game at Derby which I was looking forward to seeing on Sky has been postponed because of heavy snow. Kegworth is not far away so conditions must be appalling, no matter what the faithful are posting. PFP should do the decent thing and issue refunds.

Re: Kegworth HiFi show
Lets put it this way. I live 20 miles away. I cannot get up or down a small side road from my house. The ground conditions are such that even the dogs fall over. There's a contraflow on the A453 near the Kegworth turn off. Kegworth itself is quite small and can get congested. I await a report from a friend who lives nearer and has given it a go.

Re: Kegworth HiFi show
Forget about PFP he is an arse and piss stained blanket is a knob head let us praise the event. Apart from MCRU hacking in with his illegal fuse this is old Scalford, but no bigger rooms and also on the photos I have seen the rooms look small. BUT even so this is the users again, putting their choices on the line, and in many way I am jealous, it is exactly what I want to do, but I am not allowed to.
What I really wish is that a nva user had taken a room and then I might have put the dark glasses and false beard on for a laugh.

Re: Kegworth HiFi show
The bad weather is a real shame for the enthusiasts. They put a lot off effort in to travel, set up, host, pack away etc (and not a little expense, too). Hope they still had a good time...

Re: Kegworth HiFi show
Well he is probably more responsible for what has become of Scalford (as it was) successful and enjoyed and a ruined forum. He was supposed to protect the members interest but he just jumped into the slurp. Sadly I think it has dried up.
Anymore good ideas Pete ?

Re: Kegworth HiFi show
The order in which Google results come out depend on your past browsing / Internet usage. You spend a lot of time here, so Hi-fi Subjectivist will come near the top for you.
Log into a fresh computer, eg one at your local library and search for the show as the first thing you do and the link to HFS may well come out rather lower than third.
And as for the roads today, this morning A roads were passable with care in a 2 wheel drive with summer tyres. Passable with less stress in an AWD and even less with AWD and winter tyres. The M1 was fine. 2 clear lanes and light traffic - so light that it was better than normal for driving.
The Kegworth venue is better than Scalford in some ways. Worse in others.
