Does someone here still use a tapedeck ?
I still love these great machines - started collecing them. Most of them are properly working.
Here a picture of my collection

Re: Tapedecks
I only have a Denon DRM24HX now, but I've owned quite a few before in a past life... Nakamichi BX2, 700, 700ZXE, 682ZX, Dragon, CR7 and CR4, Aiwa AD1500 and AD1800, Tandberg 310, a clunky old Neal Wollensak thing and Teac 7000 - oh, and a Technics 676 (I think it was, front-door access to a slant loading mechanism)...

Re: Tapedecks
I must admit that there's something about tape/cassette decks, not sure what it is but there's something. It's bugger-all to do with sound quality, I think it's just that they are overtly mechanical like turntables.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Re: Tapedecks
Far too complex for its own good, miles of wiring and no spares.. I also had an LX5 for a very short while but it had a fault that proved almost impossible to fix. I left it with the ex head of the importer service dept and he was killed in an accident shortly after... I took the CR7 totally for granted and when I sold it to my pal with the 'audio-museum' to join all the other stuff I'd sold him (other Naks and my Revox), I only really recognised it for the great machine it was when he was cleaning it prior to boxing up - I'd had it on the lower shelf of a two-tier stand and it was down on the floor level so all but invisible.
