Re: Ask a designer
Lindsayt - I am keeping both ;] as AP20 is married to Cubettes and AP70 SA for now works as a headphone amp ( kind of Jammy Special in one box for very power hungry planar HPs ) Hoping someday it will be used with Cube 1s or maybe even Cubix.
As I mention it was meant to be silly experiment and nothing to do with comfortable listening volume levels - now results are unexpected and I try to understand what is going on, lets call it for academical reasons.

Re: Ask a designer
BMU
After some talks with friend - owner of AG1500 AC ReGenerator 1500W PSU (SHUCKO)
He same as me mostly listen to digital through PC>DAC>AMP>Speakers
And have it all connected to AG1500
http://www.powerinspired.com/ag1500-ac- ... -1754.html
I asked him to have a look at NVA BMU (through google translate as he dosen't speak English)
And he asked me to forward for him this question:
If he would buy BMU should he connect it also to AG1500
or keep it separate - PC, monitor, NAS, printer etc to AG1500 and DAC and AMP to BMU

Re: Ask a designer
Yes it was put on a back burner as some family business had to be sorted first, but I should be free to pick it up from Thursday.

Re: Ask a designer
There are so many people on forums giving advice from point of view as an "expert". It's hard to know whose advice is formally backed up with relevant qualifications and whose is just bluster.
To that end, I would like to know what qualifications the "Doc" has. A Doctorate in Electronics or related subject, maybe?

Re: Ask a designer
Sorry, I'm not with you, Before seeking advice, it's usually prudent to ensure that the person you ask is not only qualified but also the best person available. After all, I wouldn't ask a hospital porter for their opinion on my health; I'd ask a specialist. I wouldn't ask a worker in a Home Improvement store how to tackle a hot water system or electrical wiring, I'd ask a plumber or qualified electrician respectively. It seems eminently sensible therefore, to ensure the credentials of a "designer" before reading their existing advice, let alone seeking advice yourself,

Re: Ask a designer
Well you dig out inactive post and asked you question in a bit of a strange way so I would say it does smell a bit fishy.
Try and ask Doc directly in a fresh new post and you may even get an answer...
