Re: Introduce Yourselves
I can assure you I don't, it is just irritating to *want* to go to the loo for a pee in the middle of the night. I am told it is the age of the prostate, the other result is restricted flow. Only a real problem if the flow is blocked, and then they have to operate, and THEN you are incontinent.

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Hi all,
A quick post to introduce myself - I'm Dave, also known as Thermionic Idler on the Audio Talk forum.
Doc asked me to talk a little bit about my turntable - I'll try not to get too verbose about it!
This particular Garrard 301 is not exactly museum-original. The chassis is newly manufactured out of solid aluminium, making it stiffer and less resonant than the original. It's got an upgraded grease bearing and brass platter as well. Plinth is a two-tier granite skeletal affair, the top layer isolated with sorbothane spheres. The pickup arm is a 12" Audio Origami PU7 and the cartridge I have now is a Van den Hul Black Beauty (it had a Koetsu on when the pic was taken). As you might expect, it plays music beautifully, with an immense sense of authority.
As for the rest of my system, phonostage is a Whest PS30-RDT. Current preamp is a Modwright LS100 and power amp is a 15 watt OTL designed by Bruce Rozenblit of Transcendent Sound. Speakers I've mentioned before, are Steve Cresswell's original big forward-firing Metronomes with the Fostex FF225WK drivers and ribbon tweeters (can't remember the make).
I have a very slow-running DIY project on the go for a balanced linestage and a 75 watt monoblock version of the Transcendent Beast OTL.

Veil of Tears. Think you may find some rough demo recordings on Facebook and Youtube. Hope you like it.
Re: Introduce Yourselves
Welcome Thermionic Idler, the Garrard looks amazing and although I enjoy vinyl I have never heard one. I am sorry to say too many years blinkered with and LP12 and reading hifi mags. Having been a lurker on AT am looking forward to your future posts.

Re: Introduce Yourselves
Hi there, im ant
I dont have much other than that to say tbh, so some system info.
I have about ten turntables at the moment but use my modifed lenco with a unipivot arm and shure cart. Benedict audio phono stage
Amps are an el34 se amp that I designed and built a few years ago and a pass f5.
Digital is a mac mini as a server and a beresford dac, and a philips cd 160 as a transport.
Speakers are some prototype metronomes
Cheers ant
