i am thinking of buying a starting point dac 3 for my laptop.i notice that a few members on here have tried it. can anyone be kind enough to post a few lines of impressions

The DAC 3 is on it's way to Fisherman as we speak.
I did enjoy it but since hearing it I have done more listening with the Rega DAC and been experimenting with the filters and have been listening to filter 2 rather than filter 3 which I had previously been using. It has given me the interest to possibly try one of the Metrum NOS DACs at a later date if funds permit.

Don't forget Schiit.. I really liked the Theta digital stuff and the current Schiit gear has a direct lineage back to the Theta DACs I believe.
