Re: Purchase of NVA Products
Hi...Thank you for all your comments...All of which I am taking on board..Tend to agree about the Sony cd players..Germany seems to be the place to go...
Purchase starts tomorrow...Xmas and all that so it will be headphone amp or similar priced item..Just to get the ball rolling...I have my Marantz peal lite CD and Amp currently on Ebay as we speak...Once gone it will be the £650 pre amp (90)...And so on...Question does this top version of the pre amp have a built in phono stage...Ebay seems to say yes...Just clarifying.

Re: Purchase of NVA Products
Sorry omdurman the 90 does not include a phono, you have to purchase separately. There is a phono 1 which can be upgraded to a phono 2 by adding a separate power supply which can be upgraded again by adding another power supply. If memory serves the phono 1 is £280. You can read the reviews on this site. Good luck with your future purchases, will look forward to you comments. ![Very Happy ](./images/smilies/icon/biggrin.gif)

SA means 'stepped attenuator... The old ones used to have the option I seem to recall, but the P90 is better for not having one imo.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

Expensive door stops if they fail. Many tales of this on Hoffman Forum and Sony can't or won't support even their last ES player the 5400. In facts spares were unavailable while there was still new stock being sold in the USA (couple of years after it was last available here). The nicest machines with the full mechanism in the draw or top loading are the least fixable models.jammy395 wrote:Well the vintage Sony's are goin up in price......ouch.!!!!

Don't be a silly arse Jammy, if you don't want it send it to me, and I will sort it out for myself.
Re: Purchase of NVA Products
Sorry Doc, dumped in despair, with a tad of perverse satisfaction to boot.
A catalogue of errors pissed me off.
Remote gave up the ghost.
Sticky drawer mech, opens with button (push to close)
Skipping cds.
No read cds.
Headphone vol very hissy.
etc.
Reverted back to my Marantz....SQ naff in comparison, but reliable.

I know it means spending more money Jammy but just seen this on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-CDP-X77E ... 2181078339
There is a slightly cheaper 5 series and one or two other ES players available.
Bloody bad luck just before Christmas.
