saw this back in days VH1 was one of a few music channels, top man and immense talent.

Re: Obits
Two big losses. I'm not really sure if I remember Clay (as he was then) being knocked down by 'Enry's 'Ammer in the fourth but I think I do. I'd have been 9 then, and those sort of memories are unreliable. Perhaps I just wish I remembered it live. One thing's for certain, Muhammad Ali was THE boxer of my youth and it's very sad to see him pass.
Swarb, bloody genius bloke. Had a double lung transplant in 2004 which gave him (and us) another 12 years or so. The best Swarb story I know was when he woke up in hospital (must have been 2003) and was told the sad news about John Martyn having his leg amputated. "Blimey" says Swarb, "can I have a go on his foot pedal?" In 1999 a newspaper mistakenly published news of his death. Not one to miss an opportunity he photocopied the article and signed it for fans at his gigs...for a quid. During his last live performances he had an oxygen bottle on stage and had to suck on it between songs. We'll never see his like again.
