Re: Rega Rip-off
Roy must surely have been inspired by Kyocera - yes indeedy - a Japanese company who once built turntables……

Re: Rega Rip-off
They'll still sell hundreds of RP1's though. If £30k is the price, it won't sell in the UK I fear, as it doesn't look enough like a cutting lathe...

Re: Rega Rip-off
Not true of NVA Statement products. We were first to use the name in 1991 and for me it meant, "at the mo this is the best I can make" if I make cost effective less of a priority.

Re: Rega Rip-off
Rega won't sell many at that price. There are a number of US and other high end TT's that offer about 10 times the apparent material value at a similar price. It can't be much more costly to make than the p10. Even in the high end market it hasn't enough bling factor.

Re: Rega Rip-off
I said on TAS that Wilson Benesch (itself a deliberate cachet-attracting name I think) were 'mucking around' with carbon fibre twenty years ago. Even their expensive products weren't as pricey as this, and they did all their own machining I remember, as do Rega.
