Every year, radio listeners in the Netherlands vote for their all-time favourite songs and the top 2000 tracks are broadcast, non-stop, from Christmas Day to midnight 31 December. A feast of nostalgia and (mostly) great music.
The number 1 for 2015 has just been announced and 4.5 million people have voted 'Imagine' by John Lennon as the song of the year.
The rest of the top 5 is, usually, 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Hotel California', 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Child in Time'.

Re: Top 2000
I thought "Tulips from Amsterdam" - "Malcolm McLaren's Double Dutch" - and "The Windmills of your Mind" would have been up there.........
Re: Top 2000
wow, just goes to prove how 4.5 million people can be wrong. 'imagine' is the most nauseating song of all time. other opinions are valid. but still wrong.Fretless wrote:Every year, radio listeners in the Netherlands vote for their all-time favourite songs and the top 2000 tracks are broadcast, non-stop, from Christmas Day to midnight 31 December. Re: Top 2000
The main reason I never listen to the local Classic Rock FM station is that they only ever seem to play the above, along with Alright Now, Freebird, and The Boys Are Back In Town. A proper snoozefest.Fretless wrote: The number 1 for 2015 has just been announced and 4.5 million people have voted 'Imagine' by John Lennon as the song of the year.

Re: Top 2000
I should have clarified Jammy, yes fine tunes indeed but as you say played to death over and over again. I mean Led Zeppelin for example, how many great songs could they play for christsakes, but it's always STH or Whole Lotta Love?

Re: Top 2000
Dutch radio listeners have voted again for their all-time favourite songs and the annual 'Top 2000' will be played, in its entirety, between Christmas Day and Midnight on 31 Dec.
Back on No. 1 - 'Bohemian Rhapsody', followed by 'Hotel California' and 'Stairway to Heaven'. Predictable.
I voted for The Who and The Cure.

Same with Jethro Tull, if ever they get played, its always Living in the Past and that dates back to 1969 for Christ's sakeBillyBones wrote:I should have clarified Jammy, yes fine tunes indeed but as you say played to death over and over again.
