URGENT WARNING!!!

Unread post by slinger »

Whatever you do, please don't click on any links you see that promise to take you to the video of John Bon Jovi's new cover version of the Pogues & Kirsty MacColl's "Fairytale Of New York."

Such links will, in reality, redirect your browser to a video of John Bon Jovi's version of the Pogues & Kirsty MacColl's "Fairytale Of New York."

I mean, apart from the auld codger making right hames of our beloved classic, it's a duet, so what you've got is 4m 57s of Mister Jovi blathering to himself. Lads, he even changed the fekkin' lyrics and for reasons known only to himself, the absolute bollix calls your man a "squirrel."

"You’re a bum, you’re a braggart/You’ve lost all your swagger,
And the word around town is you ain’t much in bed,
You’re a squirrel ‘cause you’re nuts, You’re a kick in the guts,
Happy Christmas my arse I'll be glad it's our last!"

Seamus Heaney, he's fekkin' not.

A lad named Rob Smith Tweeted
"I have heard Bon Jovi’s cover of Fairytale Of New York.

"It’s the worst thing to ever happen music, and I am including both the murder of John Lennon and Brian McFadden’s solo career in there.

"This is worse!

"Thanks a lot, Jon. Kid’s crying now saying 'Christmas is ruined'"
.
And The Pogues retweeted it from their official account.

That's how shite his version actually is. You'd get more pleasure from a puck in the gob.

Please don't click the links, they're an absolutely evil trap, and are no more, or less, than a gateway to sacrilege. Shane MacGowan (blessed be his name), would be spinning in his grave if he hadn't been one of the walking dead since 1983.
