Reconditioned ones aren't expensive.
Microsoft Surface laptops are shoddy junk.

Premium business laptops from Dell and HP have completely different levels of engineering content.

I bought a 'b-grade' Dell business laptop with a very worthwhile saving (direct from Dell) about 11 years ago. I'm typing on it now.

That's good to know about the Surface - saves me bothering to look for one.

I use a 10-year-old Dell laptop. Still works OK.

Thinking about it, I have an Acer Switch 3 which might be within budget, it can be a tablet or notebook.

I want to spend around £250. Looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4" screen for £220.

Anybody with experience of these or any other tablets in this price range ?

Thanks, Kara.
Stu,
Which tablet did you decide upon? I have resurrected this thread as it seems my wife's Amazon Fire has bitten the dust.
Thanks

I got a Samsung Galaxy. Can't remember the model number until I get home. Will let you know later.

Thanks, seems a good choice. A year ago I bought a Samsung Galaxy phone which serves me well and enabled me to download music playing apps which are blocked on my Amazon tablet.

I'm typing this out on a lenovo yoga smart tab i got on special from spamazon. It was quite difficult to hack into and remove the unwanted crap. Hardware wise, it's great.

Mine is a galaxy tab a7.

Nothing majorly wrong with it. I have only ever had Samsung tablets. My kids have amazon fire or whatever they are called. Too small for my ageing eyes and sausage fingers.

I now have to wear the lowest magnification glasses you can find in the shops to do any soldering. Otherwise who knows what could happen. Probably a bang and a nasty smell.
