Indeed, a good skill to have. Re: The apocalypse
Over here, the police have reported a big reduction in burglaries. People are constantly at home and the thieves are probably scared of breaking into a house where they will get infected.
Unfortunately there is a severe increase in reports of domestic violence as some people have the need to take out their frustrations on their partners and family.

Re: The apocalypse
My old guvnor at the pub where I worked, was a shooter, as are/were a lot of my mates, everything from black powder to rifles to handguns. It was a long time ago, lots more stuff was legal in those days. Rog once started a bike ride - Sevenoaks to Brighton - with his .357 magnum, using a live round.
The subject of the apocalypse was discussed several times during lockins. I was the only non-shooter (officially) he said he'd let into the cellar, come the day. For some reason, he believed I was one of the few who would "shoot someone they knew if it came down to the last tin of beans in Tesco." I think it was a compliment. I've mulled the situation over in my mind many times since, and I don't think his confidence was misplaced. I wouldn't enjoy it, but to survive, if it were "kill-or-be-killed" I don't think I'd hesitate. It's so easy to say that though, and one never knows until the situation actually arises. Knowing that the situation will probably never arise makes it easier still, although...

Re: The apocalypse
I think I would survive, I am fit, mentally strong and well aquatinted with the great outdoors, a few of us still regularly wild camp or bivy with minimal kit in the proverbial middle of nowhere. I used to used to shoot rabbit and other stuff, I still fish and forage ~~~~~~ and here's the gotcha ~~~~~~ none of this matters a jot if someone gives me the lurgy, I would be just another body lying in a hospital bed hoping and praying I pulled through

Re: The apocalypse
First time I was burgled they took the video recorder and left the LP12, Creek amp and Heybrook speakers.
Second time they took a pair of kef crestas and left the rest of the hi-fi alone, which then included Saras.
Third time they took my socket set and drill and left the hifi gear alone, which included Briks by that time.

I recon I would do okay. Bushcraft is my main hobby but I do need to increase my foraging knowledge. Injuries and infections would probably be main concern for me...
