As a working class bloke brought up on a council estate in #Hull I always feel enormous pride and gratitude when I go into the chamber of the House of Commons to represent east #Hull. I’ve never felt a sense of entitlement. This is what that looks like!?

They don't do themselves any favours, do they?
In the interests of balanced reporting, check out all these other sleeping politician photos:

This one's quite funny:

This blinkered outlook has enabled a motely crew of extreists to take over the Govenment and shut off democracy. I am shocked that this could happen in this country. I have not attended any form of demonstration for nearly forty years, but that could change on Tuesday when there is a pro democracy demonstration in Cardiff.
Good on you.

I went to the one down the road in Stroud yesterday.
I was pleased that the event was very much cross-party, and deliberately NOT Pro-Momentum or anti-Brexit. I don't want to stop Brexit, and am no fan of Momentum. I just want our representative democratic system to operate.
Of course there were present Socialist Worker salesman and Remoaners in Stroud yesterday, but they were very much in the minority. Most on the march and rally were concerned moderates (like me). Johnson-Cumming's actions have clearly united a wide spectrum of groups and individuals. The main speakers were a local LibDem councillor, a local Green MEP and the local MP David Drew (Labour Co-operative). All stressed the cross-party nature of the event, and were at pains to acknowledge the efforts of those Conservative and Leave voting supporters of Parliamentary Democracy.
I was relieved that these central messages tied in with my pre-prepared banner (4 years of History study at Cambridge paid off at last, as I just about managed to recall the siege of Gloucester during the civil war...)

I also recall that after the civil war John Bunyon asked his generation "Were you doers or talkers only? What canst thou say?"
Go on CN211276! Get yourself down the pro-parliament rally on Tuesday! You'll feel proud.

I'll be waving my placard again outside Shire Hall in Gloucester on Monday.
Had to go to the demo today. The local MP talked a lot of sense about the catastrophe which awaits if we crash out without a deal and the danger of an election allowing this to happen if the clown puts back an anounced date. Momentum spouted off the topic :Bllocks: seeing the coup as their meal ticket.

There was a good turn out of normal people spanning all ages with EU and Welsh flags. There is a shared anger about Rees-Mog and other mongs, to wealthy to be affected by a no deal Brexit, putting an unelected rabel rousing clown in number 10 and sticking two fingers up to democracy.
Chuffed for you.
Sounds like an energising experience.
And I agree that’s it’s annoying and a bit revolting when individual groups (often the hard left) seek to make capitol at these events. They really are scarily fanatical, but thankfully in a minority.
I went out to the pro-parliamentary democracy rally in Glos yesterday. Fair doos to the local Tory MP - he turned up to “answer” questions. After seeking to justify proroguing as a means to the ends of getting Brexit done, I asked which was more important to him, Brexit or Parliamentary Sovereignty. His answer was inevitably a bit shit.

Let him sleep, I say. He’s even more self-important, pompous, narcissistic and dangerous when he’s awake and speaking.

I think many of you actually missed the point of my post showing Jacob Rees Mogg lounging across the bench. Why I said "They don't do themselves any favours, do they?" at the bottom was a completely apolitical point, for once.

What I was saying with that comment was that with his party in some state of disarray, and with opponents inside and outside the house ready to jump on any misstep, you would think an intelligent man (for he is, despite my personal dislike of his public persona) would know better than to offer the opposition free ammunition.
