Not really a nightmare, but I thought I'd bought a pair of speakers (my bid was the one that 'won'). A few days later, I heard from eBay that the seller had withdrawn the item because I hadn't contacted him. In fact, I had contacted him, and had also paid for the speakers via bank transfer. My money was refunded, and I just put it down to experience.

That really annoys me. It usually means that the buyer hadn't put a reserve on the item and thinks it didn't reach a high enough price in the auction.

I had a bad experience with a seller, not a hifi product, and posted justifiable negative feedback following a return, refund and not very amicable exchanges. I was shocked to find that the feedback was removed the same day after the seller had followed up with a derogetry comment about me. There was nothing in my feedback comments which were untoward or ad hom. I was polite in the circumstances. I can only asume that eBay are in league with the big sellers from whom they receive a lot of revenue. I will take feedback stats with a large pinch of salt from now on.

Does the negative still show in their list of feedback (minus the comments)?

It has been completly removed. The stats show he has received no negative feedback in the past month. Before my feedback was removed the stats read 99%, now it is 100%.

Juxtapose things you gave bought, against bad experiences. If it's working out 5 out 100 that are vad thenvthat is life and nothing to do with Ebay.

I think it means that wherever you buy from shit happens 5% of the time, so your experience on Ebay is about average.

Not saying I agree with that.
