I was smitten as soon as I read his Philosophy and interview on the NVA website. I found him to be so much more reasonable, helpful and friendly on the couple of occasions I spoke to him on the phone than I expected from his online persona. So refreshing to find someone whose products can be trusted to simply reproduce music as well as it is possible to do so. My condolences to Nadia, family and friends. I sincerely hope NVA - and the Doc's philosophy and principles - do not fall by the wayside with his passing.

Maybe 20 years ago NVA was imported into Spain, I was the technician who took the technical service to the importer and NVA was always one of my favorite brands.

My sincere condolences to all your family and friends.

How terribly sad................

Richard and I often completely disagreed but we also had many things in common.

What is so sad is that he didn't have a final rant, he wasn't able to say goodbye and that we were not able to say goodbye to Richard.

R.I.P Richard
What he had was final Grand Tour.

He was more active at UK HI-fi events: Owston, North West Audio show, Kegworth, Bake-offs etc in the last couple of years than he'd ever been.

That, to me, is a more fitting end to his career than a final rant.

In the 31,000 posts he made on this version of the Hi-fi Subjectivist forum over the last 7 years, he'd gotten everything off his chest that he wanted to get off.

Another fitting tribute to Richard from my perspective is how he held other deserving niche/direct selling manufacturers in high regard (and also deserving DIY'ers) eg. Colin Wonfor, Les Wolstenolme, Nick Gorham, DSJR, Dave Cawley, Anthony Cresswell- Lenco plinth man and of course last but by no means least, our own Karatestu.

Apologies to any I may've omitted, but I'm sure you know who they are.

Being on a cruise I have very limited Internet access, but was able to catch up with this thread today.I echo the sentiments and my message at the funeral was about how NVA has enriched my life. I really hope the brand continues. It is what Richard would have wanted.

My condolences to Nadia and family. R.I.P.
